What is building the monolith?

Building the monolith refers to a popular strength training program created by Jim Wendler, a strength coach and former powerlifter. The program is intended for advanced lifters who aim to increase their strength and size significantly.

The monolith training program often involves performing a high volume of sets and reps with heavy weights, generally requiring a lot of equipment such as barbells, dumbbells, and squat racks. This high-intensity training protocol is designed to challenge the body and stimulate muscle growth.

The monolith program usually consists of four training days per week, with each day dedicated to a different primary lift, such as squat, bench press, deadlift, and overhead press. The program follows a cycle of four weeks, wherein the reps and weight vary to increase the challenge as the body adapts to the training.

To build the monolith, one must have good programming, nutrition, and recovery practices. It's also essential to have a good foundation of strength training experience before embarking on such an intense program.
